Parking in Ocean City, NJ
All municipal lots and street parking are free in the off-season between Oct. 31 and May 1. Parking meters and fees for surface lots are in effect for the other six months.
PARKING METERS
All meters in Ocean City now accept payment through the Parkmobile smartphone app for iPhone, Android, Windows, Amazon, and Blackberry phones, or by calling the toll-free number on the green meter stickers. If you don't already have Parkmobile, the process is easy.
- Download the app: Search "parkmobile" on your phone's app store or visit www.parkmobile.com. Set up your account.
- Select time and zone: Choose how long you want to park and enter the zone number located on stickers and signs on the meter. In locations without maximum parking time limits, customers can receive alerts when their meter time is about to expire and extend their time remotely without returning to the meter. In locations with time limits, users will not be able to extend their time beyond the limit.
- Confirm your information: Please be sure to choose the correct license plate to avoid being ticketed.
- Check app for time-remaining ticker: Check the app to see how much time remains. The display on the meter will not change.

Meter fees range from 50 cents per hour in the area of downtown Asbury Avenue to $2 per hour in the beach and boardwalk zone. Time limits range from one to eight hours. Payment can be made by coins, credit card (at some locations) or through the new smartphone app.
PARKING AT BEACH
Parking fees at north-end lot near the Ocean City-Longport Bridge, at the 59th Street lot, and along the beachfront E. Atlantic Blvd., Beach Road and area from 57th Street to 59th Street can be paid only through the Parkmobile app or by calling the toll-free Parkmobile number listed on signs near your parking spot.
MUNICIPAL PARKING LOTS
Surface lots are available throughout the city and serve the beach and boardwalk area, the downtown retail district and other spots in town. Rates vary depending on demand but never exceed $25 per day. Some lots include parking meters, and some are free. Click on the image at the top of this page for an interactive map of all lots in Ocean City. Payment can be made by cash or credit card.
METERED PERMITS
Metered permits are available for $150 for the season and apply to the lots at Seventh Street and Central Avenue, the Transportation Center (Ninth Street and Haven Avenue) and 12th Street and Asbury Avenue. Fees are prorated by the number of full and partial months left until the end of the season. Permits are valid for one vehicle and are not interchangeable. Call or visit the Transportation Center at 10th Street and Haven Avenue at 609-398-9030 to purchase permits.
BUS PARKING
Bus parking will be allowed as follows:
- Transportation Center. 7 a.m. to midnight. $75 with reservation, $100 without reservation.
- The west side of West Avenue in front of the Ocean City Primary School in designated spots only. July through August only (7 a.m. to midnight). $75 with reservation, $100 without reservation.
- Nonprofit groups with proof of nonprofit status shall pay a fee of $25 for parking at both of the above locations with reservation; $50 without reservation.

OVERSIZED VEHICLES
Oversized vehicles (motor homes, buses, construction vehicles, vehicles with trailer, etc.) are not permitted to be parked at the following lots unless given permission and a permit (call 609-398-9030):
- Shelter Road parking lots
- 9th and Boardwalk (north and south lots)
- Atlantic Avenue (between Moorlyn and 9th Street lot)
- Moorlyn Terrace lot
- 8th and Boardwalk (north and south lots)
- 5th and Boardwalk lot
PERMIT PARKING ON SURFACE LOTS
Permit parking will be allowed on the following lots:
- Ninth Street and Boardwalk metered lot (also called Alpha A Lot).
- Avenue Lot (between Ninth Street and Moorlyn Terrace)
- Ninth Street and Boardwalk metered lot (also called Alpha A Lot) - $1,100
- Atlantic Avenue Lot - $800
Replacement of lost or stolen gate card passes shall be $15.00. Damaged cards turned in for replacement shall be no charge.
OVERNIGHT PARKING FOR VEHICLES AND BOATS ON TRAILERS
The Ocean City Municipal Airport provides limited parking for airplane pilot vehicles, boats on trailers, RVs and other vehicles. Stays are limited to two weeks, and no commercial vehicles are permitted at any time. Please complete this Parking Permit Form and return to kdavies@ocnj.us and tdwyer@ocnj.us.
OFF-SEASON PARKING FOR VEHICLES AND BOATS ON TRAILERS
Motorized vehicles and boats on trailers are allowed long-term parking on the 9th Street and Boardwalk Lot and the Atlantic Avenue Lot in designated spots during the period of November 1st and March 31st with proper application and approval by the Division of Parking Regulations. The rate shall be sixty ($60.00) dollars per month and any portion thereof. Please complete this Off-Season Parking Permit Form and return to kdavies@ocnj.us and tdwyer@ocnj.us.
