Ocean City is designating August as Veterans Month, and the public is invited to a brief kickoff ceremony at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, outside the Ocean City Music Pier. City and veterans leaders will give brief remarks, and an Ocean City Pops trio will perform.
The city will honor veterans in various ways throughout the month. Among other activities, the daily 9 a.m. flag-raising ceremony at the Music Pier will recognize a “Veteran of the Day.” There will be a veterans float in the Baby Parade on August 8. American Legion Post 524 is planning a special dance at their post at 46th Street and West Avenue.
