On Saturday, July 20, 2024, the traffic pattern from Spruce Road and Walnut Road will be temporarily altered. Effective at 12 a.m. on July 20, Spruce Road will be one-way eastbound (toward the ocean) travel only. Walnut Road will be one-way westbound (toward the bay) travel only. The patterns are to ensure emergency vehicles can access the roadways without delay for any emergency response(s). In addition, the pattern will also alleviate traffic congestion during the Night in Venice parade. The Police Department is requesting the public's assistance with the one-way travel. Residents and visitors are requested to move/park their vehicles facing the correct direction of travel. For Spruce Road, vehicles on both sides should be moved/parked facing eastbound. For Walnut Road, vehicles on both sides should be moved/parked facing westbound. Police officers will be stationed at Ferndale Drive, Appletree Lane, Rosemar Lane, and Bay Avenue to assist drivers with navigating the traffic pattern. The Police Department is requesting that homeowners advise any visitors/guests ahead of time about the traffic pattern. If anyone has any questions, please contact Lt. Bob Reichanek of the Traffic Safety Unit at 609-525-9136 or rreichanek@ocnj.us. |
