Special Weather Statement:

12 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024

With a new moon arriving on Thursday, evening high tides this week are expected to reach the bottom of the scale for “minor” coastal flooding.

The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Ocean City, Strathmere and nearby coastal areas from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday, June 4.

Water levels are predicted to crest in the hours around high tide on the bay side (Ninth Street Bridge) of Ocean City at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. High tide on the bay side of Strathmere near Corson’s Inlet is at 7:12 p.m. Tuesday.

Please use caution on roadways and avoid travel on any street covered by water. Monitor conditions and be prepared to move parked vehicles to safe places in advance of this high tide.
