The top women lifeguards in southern New Jersey will compete in the Ocean City Beach Patrol Women’s Invitational at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 19 on the beach at 12th Street in Ocean City, N.J.
This year the annual event returns to the downtown, where beach and boardwalk visitors can watch the women race in swimming, running, rowing and paddleboarding events. The OCBP women are always competitive, and they’ll be ready to do well for their hometown crowd. The OCBP is celebrating its 125th anniversary this summer, and the Women’s Invitational is one of the showcase events for the summer.
“Our beach patrol has always taken pride in keeping our Ocean City guests safe in the water, and this is a chance for them to showcase what exceptional athletes they are,” Mayor Jay Gillian said. “I want to encourage everybody to come down to the beach to cheer them on.” |
