The intersection of Ninth Street and Asbury Avenue in Ocean City will be closed for an emergency repair to the storm drainage system starting at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, April 13.
Ninth Street will be closed from West Avenue to Central Avenue. Asbury Avenue will be closed from 8th Street to 10th Street.
Drivers traveling cross-town should plan to use 8th Street or 10th Street to avoid the construction zone. Asbury Avenue will be open to local traffic with continuing access to all businesses on the 800 and 900 blocks, but vehicles will not be able to cross the intersection.
The roadway is expected to be temporarily restored by the end of Thursday with final paving to be scheduled at a later date. The repair started on Wednesday, but crews needed to expand the construction zone to complete the job.
