A New Jersey American Water contractor is scheduled to begin water main construction work on West 17th Street starting on Thursday, March 24. Access to the neighborhood will not be interrupted. Some street parking will be restricted, and restricted spaces will be clearly marked as the work progresses. The utility work is being coordinated with a city project to install a pumping station and improve drainage.

A separate NJAW project to complete final repaving of 34th Street between West Avenue and Asbury Avenue was scheduled to begin Wednesday (March 23) but will be postponed due to the weather forecast. When the two-day project resumes, detours will be in place during working hours.
