City of Ocean City, NJ - Office of Emergency Management Special Weather Statement: 9:45 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch in effect for Ocean City from noon on Friday, April 30 through 5 a.m. Saturday, May 1. Forecasters predict sustained west winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph possible as a cold front crosses the region. Winds will gradually increase throughout the day and peak in the evening and early overnight hours of Friday. Scattered tree damage and power outages are likely with these strong winds. Gale-force winds are expected to develop across Delaware Bay and the Atlantic waters. Loose objects on your property should be brought inside or secured. All contractors are asked to secure job sites. Driving conditions could be hazardous.
