City of Ocean City, NJ - Office of Emergency Management Special Weather Statement: 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 The National Weather Service issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Ocean City through 4 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 3, 2021).
The advisory predicts water levels in the range of minor flooding.
The National Weather Service predicts a water level of 5.9 feet on the mean low water (MLW) scale for a high tide at 12:07 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 3) on the bay side of Ocean City. By comparison, the water level reached a peak of 6.72 feet on Monday evening (Feb. 1, 2021). Visit www.ocnj.us/octides to compare the new predictions to other recent and historic tide levels.
Street flooding is likely well in advance of this high tide. Residents should move vehicles from areas that typically experience tidal flooding before going to bed tonight. The roads closer to the beach including Central and Wesley avenues are typically at higher elevation. Parking will be available at the Trinity United Methodist Church at 20 North Shore Road in Marmora (please read letter from Trinity if you take advantage of this service).
For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never attempt to drive through flood waters, and do not drive around barricades.
