By Friday (Jan. 15), the contractor will have completed slip-lining the entire project length of the existing 20" DIP with a new 16" HDPE pipe, EXCEPT for the 14th Street culvert crossing and the final 50-foot length south of the 8th Street interconnection. Also, about half of the approximately 250' length of the 14th Street crossing was completed via open trench installation.

Next week (Jan. 18-22), the contractor plans to excavate the 8th Street interconnection point, push the remaining pipe to the interconnection point, make all pipe connections, and then backfill and temporary pave the 8th Street area. The completion of the 14th Street crossing will be done either late next week, or the following week.

This weekend, Bay Avenue will be open to two lanes of traffic, EXCEPT for between 13th and 14th Streets. Due to the open and secured pit located north of 14th Street, Bay Avenue will be open only to southbound traffic in that block. Northbound traffic will be detoured around that block. Next week, Bay Avenue will be open to two lanes of traffic, EXCEPT between 13th and 14th Streets and between 8th and 9th Streets due to work ongoing at those locations. Traffic will be detoured around those blocks.
