By the end the day (Nov. 20, 2020), the contactor will have two slip-lining pull pits open and secure on Bay Avenue. One pit will be between Tennessee and 23rd Street. The other will be immediately north of 20th Street. Also, the brick crosswalk on the north side of 9th Street will be repaired. On Monday (Nov. 23), the contractor will begin slip-lining the existing 20" pipe with new 16" HDPE pipe between the two pits. Once that segment is lined, the pit near 23rd Street will be backfilled and temporary paved, leaving only the pit near 20th Street open over Thanksgiving. Also, the brick crosswalk on the south side of 9th Street will be completed by Thanksgiving. Over this weekend, Bay Avenue will be open to two lanes of traffic with lane shifts around the pull pits. Next week, Bay Avenue will be open to local traffic only, between 24th and 18th Streets. During Thanksgiving weekend, Bay Avenue will be open to two lanes of traffic with lane shifts around the pit near 20th Street. Next week, there will also be a local closure of Bay Avenue near 9th Street to accommodate the crosswalk work. No work will be done over the Thanksgiving weekend.
