Cape May County is now offering free transportation within Ocean City at any time between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The service is available to anybody over age 18.
The county’s Fare-Free Transportation Program has long provided the same service to seniors, the disabled, veterans and low-income residents. But appointments had to be made as much as three days in advance.
The new program allows people to book a ride on-demand through an app and track the location of the shuttle as it arrives. The same services are available over the phone. Anybody can download the free “CMC On Demand” app to get started or call 609-889-3700 to schedule a ride.
The new service is part of a pilot test to increase ridership in the county’s Fare-Free Transportation Program. |
