City of Ocean City, NJ - Office of Emergency Management Special Weather Statement: 11 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 2020
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Ocean City from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday, July 4, 2020.
The current advisory forecasts water levels to peak in the hours around high tide on the bay side of Ocean City at 8:37 p.m. Saturday. Forecasters predict a level of 5.5 feet on the mean low water scale (MLW) -- just above the threshold for "minor flooding." East winds could to contribute to flooding conditions.
Residents should monitor conditions and be prepared to move vehicles from areas that experience tidal flooding. The roads closer to the beach including Central and Wesley avenues are typically at higher elevation. For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never attempt to drive through flood waters, and do not drive around barricades.
