The Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority (CMCMUA) is replacing/rehabilitating the force mains that carry wastewater to the treatment plant on the bay at 45th Street. The work will be on 31st Street from Haven Avenue to Bay Avenue; and Bay Avenue from 31st Street to Eighth Street. Work for the week of Nov. 25 to 29: As of the end of Friday (11/22/19), the contractor will have installed PVC piping, backfilled, and temporary paved up to 26th Street. The contractor's north crew will have saw-cut the pavement and staged material and equipment in the vicinity of 18th St to 15th St. From Monday (11/25/19) to Wednesday (11/27/19), the south crew will be working between 26th and 25th streets. The north crew will be working between 15th and 16th streets. No work is scheduled to be done from Thanksgiving (11/28/19) through Sunday (12/1/19). Traffic Over the weekend (Nov. 23-24), Bay Avenue will be open to two lanes of traffic with lane shifts around stored materials and equipment. From Monday to Wednesday (Nov. 25-27), Bay Avenue will be closed from 34th to 14th street. Traffic detours will be established to divert motorists to West Ave with a police traffic director stationed at 14th Street to assist in traffic control. From Thanksgiving through Sunday (Nov. 28 to Dec. 1), Bay Avenue will be open to two lanes of traffic with lane shifts around stored materials and equipment. See full project update. |
