Special Weather Statement:

5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019  

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for Ocean City and Cape May County through midnight Wednesday (July 17). 

The forecast includes lightning, strong winds and heavy rainfall. Please be prepared to take shelter and to limit travel during any storm event.

The NWS also issued an Excessive Heat Watch in effect from noon Friday (July 19) to 10 p.m. Sunday (July 21). The forecast calls for temperatures in the mid to upper 90s with heat index values from 105 to 110. Southwest winds in the forecast could bring cooler air to the beaches.
