Sustainable Jersey of Cape May and Atlantic counties invites the public to a free workshop on how we can reduce our impact on the environment by avoiding single-use plastics. The workshop is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17 at the Ocean City Community Center (1735 Simpson Avenue). Refreshments will be served.

Topics will include:

• An update on single-use plastic legislation in New Jersey
• Incorporating reusable alternatives into your lifestyle
• Local businesses making a difference
