City Seeks Ideas for Use of Open Space at 16th Street

The city's acquisition of the entire city block from 16th Street to 17th Street between Haven Avenue and Simpson Avenue is now complete. Environmental remediation of the parcel is also complete with the exception of monitoring wells that are being maintained.

The city seeks feedback for how best to preserve this tract while providing for the enjoyment of the public. The new open space is part of a corridor of public land that stretches from 15th Street to 20th Street and includes the Ocean City Community Center and Ocean City Intermediate School, along with existing recreational facilities. The city would like to consider the entire corridor as it creates its plans.
