Sanitation Services consist of a number of responsibilities vital to the cleanliness, accessibility and safety of Ocean City for our residents and guests.
Public restrooms are an essential amenity throughout the city. They are used year-round with usage peaking in the exceptionally busy summer months. Our team members are dedicated to keeping these facilities clean and offering a safe sanitary atmosphere for our beach and boardwalk guests.
City Staff take care of emptying all trash and recycling receptacles throughout the city. This consist of the boardwalk, street ends, public parking lots, playgrounds, public restrooms and the business districts.
This is a monumental undertaking during the summer season when our population grows to an estimated 150,000 residents and guests.
Ocean City also operates a recycling convenience center for property owners who wish to drop off recyclable materials such as electronics, vegetative waste, scrap metal or cardboard.
The Shelter Road Recycling Center is located just off of Tennessee Avenue near the bay.
